"Two Locks"
The negative was made with the modified Korona 8x10 camera on TMAX 100 film. The exposure was 90 seconds. I scanned a 6x9 portion of the negative and used Photoshop to adjust tone and contrast.
This is the Seven Locks area of Montgomery County, so called because there are seven locks in a very short stretch. I first noticed the lush green of the weeds and the way the water wandered through them towards the lower lock. I was positioned on a bridge over Lock 10 off to the right side. It was a very peaceful scene and I exposed the shot for the deep shadow of the stones. With the long exposure, the bicyclist who rode down the towpath did not register on the film.
