"Swains 69"
Pinhole film, Archival Pigment
Print
The negative was made with the modified Korona 8x10 camera on TMAX 100 film. The exposure was 3 minutes at F284 with no filters. I scanned the negative and used Photoshop to adjust tone and contrast.
The canoe storage racks at Swain’s Lock on the C&O Canal were stuffed back into the weeds. I placed the camera a few feet from the #69 canoe. It was Noon and the area was both bright and heavily shaded and the breeze caused blurring of some trees while the canoes stayed sharp. The Swain’s Lock image in this portfolio is directly behind the camera position of this image.
