Well, there are emails piling up in my inbox and everybody wants to know about Scott and when he will return.
Marti and I have known for many weeks that the expected date was 12-26 with a possible arrival on Christmas. As you might expect these dates were so special to us we said nothing so not to jinx them. As the time approached we both could think of nothing else and how we would just write off Christmas at home this year to be on I-95 to Savannah and Ft. Stewart. Two weeks before Scott's expected arrival, my father who had been in a nursing home for 5 years on a feeding tube made a brave and tough decision to refuse reinsertion of his tube after it fell out. So he began a long decline that ended Christmas Eve morning with his peaceful passing. For those two weeks my family was all there with him to comfort him and there was never an anxious moment. The sadness of this time was tempered three days later when Christy, Marti and I welcomed Scott home at a moment that on its own was simply indescribably joyous. We took Scott to dinner for the steak he had been thinking of when he was not thinking of Christy and then Marti and I got on the road home and everybody is now where they belong. Dad is with Mom, Scott is with Christy and we are back on the farm! The cats are all very happy...
Hope your New Year is a very Happy one!Love Ed and Marti

====================
In 2004 our son, Scott, joined the Army. He is with the 3rd Infantry deployed in Iraq. We want to share with friends and family the news and photos we have and will get from Scott over the next few months. There is a guestbook for you to sign and leave a message for him. He can read all of them from Iraq and appreciates all of your good wishes and prayers.
